Second Law of Thermodynamics
Thermal Energy Reservor
(1) SOURCE:- It supplies large amount of thermal energy without undergoing any temperature change within it.
(2) SINK:- It has capacity to absorb large amount of hermal energy without undergoing any temperature change within it.
NOTE:- Work is a high grade energy and heat is a low grade energy and complete conversion of low grade energy(HEAT) into high grade energy(WORK) is impossible in a cycle.
There are two statements on Second Law of Thermodynamic
(1) Kelvin-Plank's State:-It is impossible to develope a device operating in acycle which produces work continuously by exchanging heat with a single reservoir.
(2) Clausias Statement:- It is impossible to develope a device operating in a cycle which transfer heat from lower temperature to higher temperature without any external equipment.
